Yes, that's right, I'm still alive!! Sorry about the disappearing act but I've had some time off. I think I deserved it! I think all artists need to take some time away from their art from time to time to gain a fresh perspective on their work. I have found its given me some time to think about where I want to take Handmade Heaven next. I've been doing so much commission work lately that I've not had the time to try out new designs & new approaches, so that is what I plan to do in the next few months. I may have to turn down some commissions so I can really focus on expanding my work. I don't want to become too stuck in the past so that's my plan for 2009! I am also running low on stock as I've had a really successful pre-Christmas sell. I shifted nearly two-thirds of my remaining stock so I definitely need to focus on making some new glassy goodies.
I am just finishing off my last couple of commissions so I have a clear run at the new work I want to try. I have two glassy goodies in the kiln at the moment. One is a latticeware bowl in black/white/orange/clear glass to go in a modern kitchen and the other is a framed artwork piece made for a mother to give to her daughter as a birthday gift.
This is a work in progress photo of the artwork I've named 'Secrets'. I think it will be really fun when it's ready. The green will turn to lime green and the copper hearts will become a gorgeously rich deep pink. I will post photos of the finished articles when they're ready.
By the way, Happy New Year to all! I hope you had a lovely Christmas & NYE - I know I did! :)
