Indiana Jones 4 - teaser trailer is out!

Oh my god, oh my god, OH MY GOD! I can't wait for this film to be out. We're all very excited about it in the office. Today is the first day the teaser trailer can be seen on the internet. Here's the link to the version I just watched. I am very, very excited about seeing this. Roll on May!

Who cares about cards and chocolates today when we can watch Indy donning The Hat :)

Ah, memories...

Working for a children's book publishers, as I do, kids books are never far away from daily life. Today we took a trip down memory lane and started talking about books we remember from childhood. It's surprising how much a book can affect you. These are some of my favourites...

"Bear Hunt" by Anthony Browne (not to be confused with "We're going on a bear hunt")

"The Tyger Voyage" by Richard Adams, with beautiful illustrations by Nicola Bayley

My father has some curious friends... :)

"Haunted House" by Jan Pienkowski - fantastic pop-ups

Cloverfield movie

Just seen "Cloverfield". What the?!?! 'Twas great though. Despite the pre-movie warnings, I didn't get motion sickness. How disappointing!

I am in love!!

...with this cake stand from Funktion Alley. Bit pricey for what it is but I shall just drool over it from afar :)

Catalogue of glassy goodies

FINALLY! I managed to find time (and the inclination) to put together a catalogue of my glassy goodies. I'm really pleased with the result. It's amazing to see how much work I've actually done (the work in the catalogue is only some it!).

I have uploaded it onto my website so it can be viewed online/dowloaded.

Here's the pdf.

Hope you like it. (Please be patient to wait for it to load - it's 21 pages!). When I get time I will split it into sections to break up the size.

Funky Felt

This week sees the realisation of something I've been meaning to get going on for aaaages! My Funky Felt range for Handmade Heaven

I started with a quickie project for my little bro's birthday present - a bunny to go with 'The bumper book of bunny suicides'. Hope he likes it. It's just to make him smile really :)

Then last night I made a design I have had down on paper for months. It's even better than I thought and looks really smart. Fun & funky which is just what the doctor ordered! This one is available to buy now on my Funky Felt page, with more brothers and sisters coming shortly in different duo colours, each one hand stitched and 'signed' by yours truly.

I've also spent a lot of the day being confused by ecommerce! HELP! I am sure I'll sort it out though.... I hope!

EDIT: latest comments on the egg cosies - looking good! ...

"She’s cute and fun, are you going to do lots of different colours?"

"Aww how cute! And cheery! And just in time for Easter! I can just see it now... the table set for Easter morning breakfast with your lovely coasters, and your egg cosies, and one of your fabby lattice bowls filled with choccy eggs."

"They are brilliant. I’ll be after some when you’re up and running with ‘em"

"Thats adorable"

"They’re so cute and cheerful"

"How cute are they!"

"I love it, it’s soooo cute!"

"Steph they are gorgeous, such a fun idea"

Bloody cars!

My car is broken :( My suspension coil has snapped so I need to replace both, as well as a fog light I noticed was also smashed. Ah well, it's only money!!

Anyway, on a lighter note, here's a sneak peek at the 'secret' project...

The 'secret' project

Well, I set the ball rolling on our (mine and tash's) 'secret' project this morning by designing a logo. I'm really pleased with it. Hopefully it's the start of something pretty special for us. We're both fired up about it. There's a lot of research to be done, people to recruit and a massive amount of work into putting this big idea together. I know we have the skills and passion to do it, just not the time! It will be realised. IT WILL!

Birthday trip to Budapest (Nov 2007)

Just stumbled on this wonderful gadget for putting flickr photos onto blogs. Here are the photos from my trip to Budapest in November. There are some stunning photos in this set, particularly the night photos. I recommend Budapest to everyone. What an interesting place, especially for the architecture. Amazing! ...and if you get hungry, go to 'Sunny' restaurant opposite the Parliament buildings, across the river!!
